In the mid 1990s, when BME was experiencing massive growth (and thus escalating operating costs, without any income), <b>Gypsy Rogers</b> (born April 3, 1972) offered free hosting at his  <a class="external text" href="http://www.FreeQ.com" rel="nofollow">FreeQ.com</a> domains (which is where the hostname <b>bme.FreeQ.com</b> came from). It could be argued that, without his support, BME would not have survived. Gypsy still occasionally does sysadmin work for BME.
