Prison Break is a TV series on Fox Network. It is notable for the full body tattoo worn by the main character Michael Scofield, played by Wentworth Miller.
Lincoln Burrows is on death row for the murder of the Vice-president's brother. He insists he is innocent, and only his brother Michael Scofield believes him. As an engineer who helped to design the prison where Lincoln is being held, Michael takes drastic measures to help his brother. He gets himself arrested and sent to the same prison, so that with his knowledge of the building the two of them can escape together. However, while inside, Michael discovers a massive conspiracy that is determined to see Lincoln's sentence carried out. Breaking out will be more difficult than he thought, but he's still going to try.
Before being arrested for bank robbery, Michael has a full body tattoo, which is a cryptic code of many details necessary for escaping. It includes a chemical formula, used to corrode the side of an a air vent, the size/shape of the end of an Allen key which was used to move a sink and begin a tunnel out of Michael's cell, and the blue prints of the prison, among other things.
The main image of the tattoo is of Angels and Demons.
It takes two makeup artists up to four and a half hours to apply Wentworth's 25 part decal tattoo in Prison Break.
Michael smuggled in a pill which creates food poisoning-like symptoms; he did this by using an subdermal implant in his arm. He used a razor blade for removal.
Many scenes were filmed in the cell of serial killer John Wayne Gacy.
The temporary tattoo on actor Wentworth Miller takes 3 to 4 weeks to wear off, but said that he scrubbed 'them off with solvents. Because if I didn't, I'd stick to the sheets at night'.
