finger ring

A finger ring is a temporary surface piercing through the finger surface.

It is extremely rare for them to pierce, and they are almost always done just for fun as a temporary show. On top of the stresses that all surface piercings are exposed to, fingers have additional motion stresses and are also exposed to very large amounts of foreign bacteria.
