Current passing through jewelry can cause that jewelry to heat up — electrical play, especially if intense, may cause burns. This is especially likely if you're using an open current with an instrument such as a violet wand and you're not careful. Often the burn can be indirect; for example, electrical play may cause piercing jewelry to become superheated, causing burns.
