Mastectomy is the surgical removal of the breasts, or as much of the breast tissue as it is possible to remove.

Mastectomies may be performed by a doctor in order to remove a cancerous tumor, part of a female nullification project or as a step in female-to-male gender reassignment.

The resultant scars from a mastectomy are sometimes tattooed over with a decorative design.
