Castration play is a cross-section of erotic play involving CBT (banding and so on) and chastity (including infibulation) in order to temporarily simulate the effects or procedure of castration — since of course most people who find castration erotic don't actually want to be castrated for real, but instead want to safely play with the fetish.

Castration play sometimes leads to full castration, but most people who engage in this form of play keep their genitals in one piece in the long run.
