Gillian Hyde was a BME intern from British Columbia, Canada, who wrote the column "Stepping Back". She and her fiancé, Clive Mathias, were the two involved in the infamous Love at First Bite article published on April 1, 2005, claiming that they had bitten each other's fingers off as an act of love.
