Latex is a polymer that is found in the sap of plants. It can also be synthesized in a laboratory.

Its most common use in the world of body modification is in the form of latex gloves, although more and more practitioners are switching to nitrile gloves due to the prevalence of latex allergies. Latex is also found in some adhesive wound dressings and tapes.
