A Layne Piercing is essentially a horizontal Christina Piercing. It is a surface piercing placed horizontally on the pubic mound. Where this is a surface piercing it carries the same risk of rejection that other surface piercings carry. This piercing is usually performed with a surface bar or curved barbell.

This piercing is named after model and performance artist Lady Layne D’Angelo who had hers done in 2006.
