Having a body which has been altered permanently through a means such as tattoos, piercings, scarification, implants, amputation, plastic surgery, etc. To be physically altered in a way that results in permanent change to the form of the body, generally in the sense of tattoos, piercings, scarification, implants, amputation, plastic surgery, etc. Improved.

Over the past few years, as a wider range of body modifications have entered the public's view, a need has arisen for a term with a broader meaning that could includes tongue splitting, implants, scarification, etc. Thus, modified (or just modded).

Examples'

  • "Modified people have a hard time finding jobs in some cities."
  • "I don't know what I'm getting next, but I'm looking forward to getting modded when I get my next pay check."

It should be pointed out that some people find the short form modded annoying.
