Taping is a way of slowly stretching piercings by adding wraps of teflon, electrical, duct, or other tape around jewelry and reinserting it into the piercing. The rate at which a piercing can be stretched varies from person to person and is also dependent on the type of piercing; a common recommendation for earlobe stretching is to add no more than one layer of tape per day.
