Manhunter is the first film adaption of the Thomas Harris novel Red Dragon. The character of serial killer Francis Dollarhyde (spelled Dolarhyde in the original book and the later film remake) a.k.a. "The Tooth Fairy" is played by Tom Noonan. The killer sports a back piece tattoo that is based on the William Blake painting The Great Red Dragon and the Woman Clothed with the Sun.
