'''Shisei''' ("The Tattooer") is the title of a book published in [[1910]] by the famous Japanese novelist Tanizaki Junichiro. It is the story of a young [[Tattoo|tattoo]] master and a beautiful girl. Tanizaki's work was originally conceived in a contemporary setting, but later placed in the Edo period perhaps due to social pressure in those days.
