labret stud is a type of jewelry designed to be worn in smaller gauge labrets (scalpelled labrets tend to use labret plugs), and is far more common than the other type of jewelry for this piercing, fishtail labrets. It is made up of a straight shaft attached to (or a machined part of) a flat disc backing which sits on the inside of the labret. A bead (a round bead, a labret spike, or other bead) can be attached on the other end of the shaft. | |||
This jewelry is also worn in many other piercings, most commonly inner conch piercings, as well as handweb piercings and sometimes even apadravyas and others. labret stud is a type of jewelry designed to be worn in smaller gauge labrets (scalpelled labrets tend to use labret plugs), and is far more common than the other type of jewelry for this piercing, fishtail labrets.
It is not, however, appropriate for transdermal implants which uses a similar but functionally different design for its jewelry.
