Binding refers to the act of wrapping a body or body part(s) in fabric, rope or other material. This can be temporarily done in a medical sense as with bandaging, or as part of an erotic scenerio, such as BDSM or heavy play. The goal may also be the long-term physiological changes that result from foot binding, corsetry, or cranial binding. Binding will create the most drastic permanent changes when performed in infancy or early childhood, but extensive body modification can still be created throughout adulthood.
