Skin tears in an ear from stretching too quickly.

Skin Tears occur when a person stretches a piercing too quickly or an appendage (i.e. scrotum, labia, and breasts) from vacuum pumping, pulling, hanging weights. This can result in small abrasions or skin tears and, depending on the severity of the tear, it might require anything from simple cleaning and a bandage or downsizing the piercing, all the way to stitches and medical treatment. The risk is usually pretty minor and usually preventable with time and patience being key.
