A mohel (pronounced MOY-el or MO-el) is the person who performs the ritual circumcision of 8 day old boys in the Jewish faith. The circumcision ceremony, referred to as the Brit Milah, signifies a male who is entering into the Jewish covenant with god as proscribed in the bible.

Mohels must go through training, and are usually accredited by a governing body, which in the United States is the National Organization of American Mohalim.
