The sizing system used for sounds (and other things).

The French (Fr) sizing system is commonly used for sounds and some other medical equipment. One Fr unit is 0.33mm (or about 3/256 inch) -- a starter sound of 18 Fr about 6mm (or just under 1/4 inch).
