A tickler (or French tickler) in the context of body jewelry, is a silicone cap that fits over the bead of a barbell to give it a soft textured form, usually for enhancing oral sex, although it is often worn for decorative reasons as well. In order to combat jewelry aspiration and jewelry swallowing, the tickler can be permanently attached to the bead (but this isn't very common).

Ticklers tend to be inexpensive and are usually available at vendors carrying lower quality imported jewelry.
