Kiefer Sutherland, born December 21, 1966 in Paddington, London, England, UK and was raised in Canada. He is the son of actors Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas. His maternal grandfather was Scottish-born Canadian politician and former Premier of Saskatchewan Tommy Douglas, who is widely credited for bringing universal health care to Canada.

He is a prolific actor, most notable for playing Jack Bauer on the American TV show '24'.
