Team BME (note: there are various uses of the term "Team BME") in this context refers to athletes, performers, artists, and other individuals or groups sponsored in their careers by BME. Because BME is community generated, Shannon Larratt believes that it would be ethically inappropriate to spend money on advertising (ie. making some other company rich), and instead any money that would be spent on promotion is instead used to sponsor site members to both help achieve their goals and to raise awareness of the site in new areas (or sometimes just help an event happen).

Admittedly, the budget isn't that large, but if you are in need of a sponsorship (temporary or long-term) and think you can work well with as a part of the BME family on something like this, contact Shannon Larratt.
