A piercing performed with a needle as opposed to a gun.

Ear piercings are generally performed in one of two ways: with a sterile piercing needle, or with an "ear gun", as those found in the mall. When describing ear piercings, it is sometimes desirable to specify "needle piercing" so people aren't mislead into believing you're stupid enough to allow an ear gun to touch you.
