An '''ear spiral''' is a coiled piece of jewelry spiraling through multiple ear piercings. From a piercing point of view, they are no different than normal piercings. That said, the placement of the piercings needs to be ''EXACTLY'' lined up with the spacing of the coil, and this spacing needs to be consistent from start to finish, allowing the jewelry to be "screwed" (as in rotated) into place.  Custom-made jewelry is often used on existing piercings.
