<p><b>Ear cropping</b> is the removal of part of the cartilage of the ear. It is done commonly to breeds of dogs such as boxers, and, far less commonly, to humans. In dogs, the purpose is to shorten the ear and make it stand up, whereas, in humans, the purpose is simply to reshape the ear.
